Born to a Nigerian father and British mother, Luti begun his career within the media industry as an actor appearing on stage in West End theatre production of Disney's Lion King as Simba.[2] Luti is also the brother of British actor, O. T. Fagbenle.
While acting in British TV series Hollyoaks Luti started up his media company hiring broadcast and film equipment to independent and short filmmakers. Luti quit his acting career soon after, returning briefly to star in Life and Lyrics[3] alongside Ashley Walters. Fagbenle went on to open two post production facilities in London and a production company, Luti Media, whose music videos and documentaries[4] have aired on British television stations.
Fagbenle placed the wall of his Portobello post house up for sale on popular auction site eBay after notorious British graffiti artist Banksy stenciled artwork on it. The event generated attention from newspapers worldwide and the wall which was claimed to be worth £400,000 was reported by The Metro Newspaper [1] (amongst many others) to have been sold for £200,000. There is still much mystery and skepticism around the sale as the wall remains at Portobello Post.
Luti Fagbenle has now invested in several businesses including property investment company Portobello Investments. Other recent ventures include The Super Shorts Film Festival [2].[5] In 2008 his company Portobello Post became main sponsors and organisers of the six day festival which took place in Central London.
In 2007 Luti Fagbenle wrote and produced a 1 hour TV documentary for Channel 4 'Nike Midnight Madness with narration from Trevor Nelson. In 2009 Luti Fagbenle produced the TV adaptation of the sell out theatre show 'The Brothers' for MTV starring Michael Harvey, Chucky Venn and Jason Barratt. In 2010 Luti was nominated for Best Short Film in the 63rd British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs), for producing the film Mixtape starring Bill Milner.
